PTO Welcomes You!
A Welcome Leter by the President
On behalf of your NHS Parent Teacher Organization, I would like to welcome all of our returning and new families to Nell Holcomb School! We are looking forward to another great year filled with educational and FUN activities powered by parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers and staff! PTO's mission is to conduct programs, events and fundraising projects that will promote the welfare of our students in school, at home and within the community. We are off to a great start with 106 PTO members to date! If you haven't joined us yet, please consider doing so. I promise it will be the best $1 you will spend this year! Look for membership information later in this letter.
PTO is responsible for many things throughout the school year as you will see in the calendar of events. Some things are PTO sponsored and some are in cooperation with activities planned by administrators, teachers and staff. Many hands make light work and PTO has opportunities to serve in varying ways; from helping at an event to attending PTO meetings, being part of a committee or working behind the scenes at home or at the school. Just an hour or two of your time really can make a difference. Take a look at some of the opportunities to serve under the committee chair and events calendar. We all have something to give and I would like to ask you to consider where you might best be able to serve our great NHS kids, teachers and staff! Please feel free to call me 651-6296 with any questions, ideas or concerns you have - better yet come to a PTO meeting and join in on the fun!
I would also like to personally thank Tracy Weber, Kathy Tiemann, Wendi Orenstein and Dawn Haupt for serving as PTO Officers last year, as well as all committee members, parents, grandparents, teachers and staff that made the events at NHS successful and fun! Their hard work, commitment and dedication to the kids at NHS makes me proud to be a part of our community!
Kelly Morton, PTO President
