Dear Nell Holcomb R-IV School District Parents/Guardians:
With the seasons beginning to change, please take some time to familiarize yourself with the information in this correspondence that will aid you in the event that school is dismissed early or cancelled due to inclement weather, emergencies, etc... As you plan for days in which school is cancelled, we ask that you have a plan of action for days in which school is dismissed early due to inclement weather or emergencies.
The following communication mediums could be used to get the word out about any inclement weather announcements or emergencies in case of a change in the normal school day. We will use as many as time permits. The mediums most used will be KFVS Channel 12, TextCaster text messaging through Southeast Missourian and CallingPost automated calling. Both TextCaster and CallingPost require registration.

As with any decision in regard to the early dismissal, postponing, or cancelling of school, please understand that the decision is not made lightly. We must take multiple factors into consideration when making this type of decision. Rest assured that student safety is our top factor when considering whether or not to dismiss, postpone, or cancel school. We ask that you do not call the school or any personnel, as the telephones, whether land line or cellular in nature, need to be free for school personnel to use to communicate and make decisions.
Sincerely,
Darryl Pannier, Superintendent
Nell Holcomb R-IV School District
