National Reading Month Activities for Week of March 4-8
Kick-Off National Reading Month
PAWS for Reading for Reading Week
Monday, March 4th/PAWS for Reading Day: We will “PAWS” for Reading this week! Wear any shirt or pants or socks or costume that has PAWS. We will be kicking off a PAWS for Reading Challenge. We will have a classroom competition where students will bring in dog and cat food and other things that shelter animals need. We will donate to our local shelters. (They need dog food, cat food, puppy food, puppy toys, kitty litter, paper towels, cleaning supplies, blankets, treats, etc.)
Tuesday, March 5th/Pajamas & Stuffed Animal Day: Wear your PJs and bring in your favorite stuffed animal. We will have cookies & milk in the afternoon.
Wednesday, March 6th/Super Hero Day: Wear your favorite Superhero shirts, capes and/or costumes because Reading is SUPER!
(Today is also Principal’s day! Let’s Show our Principal that we think he is a Super Hero!)
Thursday, March 7th/Favorite Character Day: Wear your favorite character on your shirt or dress-up as your favorite character! This does not have to be an animal. Any favorite character!
In the afternoon, Mac’s Mission is coming to share information about animal shelters.
Friday, March 8th/Pet Day: Wear your favorite animal shirt! (Miss Krieger will be wearing horses! So if you don’t have an animal shirt, dress as a cowboy or cowgirl!)
We will wrap up the collection of donations for shelter animals.
